Vulnerability Assessment of Climate Change Effects on Marginalized Rural Communities in Kismayo” was implemented in Kismayo, Jubaland State of Somalia, from June 1, 2024, to June 30, 2024, for the Ministry of Environment & Climate Change, Jubaland. The initiative aimed to assess the impacts of climate change—such as heat, rainfall variability, and sea-level rise—on seven rural communities. Through baseline surveys, stakeholder focus groups, and the inclusion of indigenous knowledge, the project developed tailored adaptation measures and produced GIS-based risk maps and profiles. All findings were validated and reported to support climate resilience planning in the region.
